hello everyone,
Merry christmas to everyone to. Sorry I haven't kept up on my blog lately. I really am excited to update everyone today though. Last Sunday me and Dorie got released as nursery workers and now we've been called to be the cub scout masters in our ward. We're going to really miss our kids in the nursery but at the same time we're excited because it's something new that we haven't tried before. Me and Dorie have also been doing a lot of discussion the last couple of weeks and even more praying in the temple and we've decided to file for adoption next month. We last heard that we need to be married for at least 2 years before adopting. We just feel very strongly that this is something we need to do. So we're really excited about that. Our Christmas was even better. About 2 weeks ago, our neighbor Johanna came around for the ward. Evidentally the bishop asked her to go around our complex and determine if there were any families needed any help with christmas this year so we signed up. So 2 days ago--after I came home from inventory---I found a whole box full of canned goods along with some presents that Dorie said we got from the ward. So we were thinking that was all we got, Right! Oh no! After we got home christmas eve from hanging out with our friends Chris and Catherine Stollworthy, I could hear some rapping noise at our door so i went to check it out and low and behold, our front porch was stuffed full of bags of food. Our cupboards are literally stuffed full of canned food now. We truly are blessed. We were low on money after getting all our christmas gifts and were wondering how we were going to get by with food. Then Heavenly Father sent his angels to help us out. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for the blessings he continuously gives me and my wife. So all together, it was a great christmas! Well, that's all I got this week!

What I'm grateful for this year:
1. First and foremost I would have to have say I'm grateful for my beautiful wife. She's been such a wonderful joy in my life. We're coming up on our 2 year anniversary in January. Thank you sweety.
2. My membership in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.
3. My Heavenly Father and my savior jesus christ. The love they show me every day.
4. My temple marriage and knowing I can be with my wife forever.
5. My parents and the wonderful example they've been to me growing up. The opportunity I always had to ask my dad for priesthood blessings.
6. My wonderful friends I've had growing up and the wonderful example they were.
7. The opportunity I had of serving a full-time mission. Those were 2 of the most wonderful years of my life. Right next to the 2 years married to my wife!
8. The many wonderful bishops I've had growing up. They helped shape me into the man I am today.
9. The many young men advisors I had who did the same!
10. My current calling serving with my wife in the nursery. We love all our kids in the nursery. It's really helping us prepare to become parents.
11. The opportunity me and my wife have constantly of providing service while watching our friends kids. Again helping us prepare for kids of our own.
12. Getting to serve with my wife in the temple. Also feeling our kids presene from the other side of the veil when we're there.
13. Getting to do temple work for my wife's ancestors. This is the first opportunity I've gotten to do family names and I've enjoyed getting to do it.
14. My in-laws. Even though they live in New York, we can feel their love and support from thousands of miles away. My mother-in-law always has great advice.
This is my list of things I'm most grateful for this year. I hope everyone can give thanks to those they're grateful to have in their lives. I hope we can all also be grateful for the many blessings our Heavenly Father has blessed each of us with.

hey everyone,
Sorry it's been so long. I get really busy with school and work and I tend to lose track of the time. Things are going well. Me and Dorie are still trying to have a baby. Her periods are coming regularly every month but she still isn't able to ovulate. The doctor has talked with us and he has decided to put her on a fertility drug called chlomid. Statistically just about every woman who's gone on it has gotten pregnant right away. So we're hoping for the best. We're looking to get me a job as a bookeeper to. This will get me in the accounting field right away. Which will really help since I want to go into the accounting field anyways. We just registered for classes next semester today. I decided to start taking 3 classes instead of 2 at a time now. I'll get done faster that way. We also did a little research online and found out that I may have aspergers syndrome. Which definitely explain a lot of the crazy things i do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome This site will explain better what it is that I can. We think that if my professors understand it better they'll be able to help me better in class. We're still enjoying working at the temple to. Well, that's all I have this week!

Here's a cute poem we got from my mom a while ago,
A Happy Marriage Recipe
3 cups love
2 cups warmth
1 cup forgiveness
1 cup friends
4 spoons hope
2 spoons tenderness
1 pint faith
1 barrel laughter
Combine love and warmth
Mix thoroughly with tenderness
Add forgiveness
Blend with friends and hope
Sprinkle all remaining tenderness
Stir in faith and laughter
Bake with sunshine
Serve daily in generous helpings
I just thought this was a cute little recipe we could all take into consideration. As far as how me and dorie have been doing. We've been doing really well. I've started school and working really hard. We had inventory last tuesday so I had to go in at 7 and work till we got everything counting around 2:30. It was a real pain. I slept till noon the next day. We've also started hanging out with a few of our fellow temple workers more often. We enjoy getting out and hanging out with other couples. I have my first 2 tests to take tommorrow to. Wish me luck! I do have a very interesting experience to share. Dories grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago. Her mom told us over the phone that she was very afraid to die. Then in her last few moments She told her family that she could see dories father coming to get her and bring her home. Her dad passed away 6 years ago by the way. It mad her very peaceful and made the transition easier for her. Anyways, a couple weeks ago when dorie was doing work in the temple, she could feel the presence of both her dad and her grandma. Dorie up to this point had been debating whether or not to do her grandmas temple work. She felt like feeling her grandmas presence there in the temple reassured her that she should be doing it in a year. According to church regulations, we have to wait at least a year after they've passed away. So next year, it's safe to say that we'll be starting her work. Dorie still isn't pregnant yet either. For the time being she's enjoying watching other peoples kids and I enjoy it when I can get to help out. Well, that's all I have this week!

hey everyone,
It's been a very busy month for us. Summer has gone by really fast for us. Dorie spent a lot of time babysitting as usual for friends who need to have their kids watched. We tried to spend a lot of time at the gym working out. Dorie is really determined to lose more weight before she gets pregnant. We're still trying to get pregnant. She's had her period twice now in the last month. We're taking that as a good sign that her hormones are returning to normal. Hopefully it won't be too long now. We're still working at the temple friday nights. Dorie's making plans to redecorate our apartment. Her family in New York will be sending money to help us get curtains, pictures, and a few other things. I started school last wednesday. I bought a UTA bus pass for 20 bucks at the school and now I'll be riding that bus to school this semester. We've been a little while for my loan check to get here. I couldn't buy my school books till I got the rest of my loan money. I finally got it last friday. We used some of the money to buy 4 all new tires for our car to get it ready for the winter. We're also getting ready for dories birthday this next weekend. We're doing a birthday party for her this friday. I've been looking at a couple of different jobs to that I got referred to by friends in our ward. No luck finding a new job yet though. We just think it will be better for our family once we start having kids. Other than that, not a whole lot has been going on. Well, that's all I have this week.

hi everyone,
A lot has happened since the last time I wrote. No new news as to our trying to start a family. Dorie still isn't pregnant. There's been a few days when Dories been sick but still no pregnancy. I can't remember if I've already said this but we're now the nursery leaders in our ward. We now have 3 new workers to which has helped out a lot. Since we already have a little over 20 kids with more to come in the nursery. 2 sundays ago we split the nursery up finally. That worked out a ton better. I feel a little bit bad that we didn't get to go see the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house. Oh well! At least we'll get to go to the dedication. Dorie got to watch 2 girls for a friend of a lady in our complex every day from 8 to 4 for a week. The 2 girls were being beat up in the current day care they were in and it was still going to be another week before their mom could get them into another day care. It was a lot of fun even though it did ware Dorie out. Dorie will also be watching another new born to next semester while one of her best friends goes to school. So we bought a pack and play along with a baby monitor to help out with all the kids dorie has been watching as of late. I made the comment to Dorie that our spare bedroom is looking more like a nursery now. We have the pack and play in there and it looks just like a crib. It hurts me sometimes to see how much Dorie loves holding other peoples babies and wishes she had her own. I do believe it will happen its meant to happen though. It really helps to when we get to feel our childrens presence in the temple to. Somehow, I have the feeling that it will happen sometime this year though. I hope I'm right. Well, that's i have this week.

hey everyone,
Sorry, I know I haven't written in a really long time. I promise to get better. It's been an exciting month for us. Dorie is now working at the temple with me. We enjoy doing it every friday night now. Baby news is still the same as usual. Dorie got some spotting a couple of weeks ago but she still hasn't gotten her period back yet. The doctor did a blood test and evidentally her hormone levels are a little low. He also did a transvaginal ultrasound but everything looked good there to. So we're going to go back in and see him again and he'll decide what to do from there. We had an awesome 4th of July. My family decided to go to Bear Lake and camp out. But since we didn't really have a lot of money, we decided not to go. Dorie let me buy some fireworks and we had a neighborhood 4th of July party in our apartment complex. We had lasagna and some chips. It was a lot of fun. We went and saw the fireworks up in PG afterwards with one of our neighbors. We enjoyed that to. We also got membership passes at our local recreation center so we can go swimming there on a regular basis. Dorie and I really enjoy doing that. There's a lady in our apartment complex who wants to go to. She had a stroke just a couple of months ago, so this would be good for her to do. Dorie still continues to babysit for other couples in the ward. This is especially helpful for single moms who need to work and can't find anther babysitter. She enjoys it. Well, that's all I have this week!

This is a cute little quote we got from a relationships class we took last saturday:
"Life is a theatre. . . .Invite your audience carefully. Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go, or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships and friendships.
"Observe the relationships around you. Pay attention. Which ones lift and which ones lean? Which ones encourage and which ones discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill? When you leave certain people, do you feel better or worse? Which ones always have drama or don't really understand, know, or appreciate you?
"The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind, love, and truth around you, the easier it will become for you to decide who gets to sit in the front row and who should be moved to the balcony of your life. You cannot change the people around you. . . .but you can change the people you are around."
I thought this was a cute quote. It should get us all thinking.

Hey everyone,
Sorry it's taken me so long to write. I've been really busy with finishing up finals at school. Finals went well. I really feel like I did well. I was especially excited because I finally finished the last of my math classes. Don't get me wrong, math is my strongest subject but it keeps getting harder with every advancing college course. We took my dad out to dinner at the chuck-o-rama in provo. We really enjoyed it. Which now brings us to the last couple of weeks. We are visiting my in-laws in new york right now. The fun started as soon as we landed. We had to quickly rush to Dories younger brother Doug's house for a baby shower that was being held for his wife Michelle. It ended up being way fun. We pitched in to buy a onesie for Dorie's niece senora. It was really cute! It had a photo from Twilight on the front. Michelle loved it. The fun turned up when it started raining hard. They had a gazebo set up and it was about to fell over so we had to quickly run out and hold it up while the ladies got all the food, gifts, chairs, and tables out from underneath it. I ended up getting really soaked. We then spent mothers day at Dories grandparents. That was fun. We ended up spending all of last week at Dorie's grandparents' log cabin. It was fun. We just got to kick back and relax. Dorie's Aunt Debbie was in town to so I got to meet her for the first time. She's way nice. Her, Dorie, and Dorie's sister Sarah spent just about every morning walking. I think it was good for Dorie so she could finally get some good consistant exercise. Dorie's grandpa then took us up to Lake Ontario to go fishing on his boat. It was way fun! They had a cabin up there near the lake that we got to stay in. We caught 4 fish all together and lost a few others. Altogether, it was a fun experience. We're looking forward to doing it again next year. Hopefully! What was even more funny was when Dorie's mom came to pick us up. She couldn't get her van to start. We figured out that it was because she needed a new battery. The only problem was that the battery was clear near the bottom of the engine. So we had to dig a lot of stuff out in order to replace the battery. So yeah, that was fun. Dorie just finished up the last of her fertilization pills. We're hoping now that she'll be getting her period back soon. The doctor said it will take about another week. We're hoping for the best now! Well, that's all I have this week!

Hey everyone,
I had an absolutely awesome easter weekend. Unfortunately, it began with work. I hate working weekends sometimes. I never get to really enjoy weekends sometimes. Anyways, it was really busy with work. Our store did a huge easter egg hunt. The only bad part was that there were a lot more kids than we originally thought there would be. So there were a lot of kids who didn't end up getting any eggs. I thought that was pretty sad. After work, i bought my wife some chocolate and some flowers for an easter gift. She thought it was sweet. We then went to my parents for our anual easter egg hunt. We also got our family pictures taken. My older sister Shelly had a friend of hers named Lisa come down and take them. I thought she did a really great job. Afterwards, we went to mom and dads for dinner. Then later that night, we met up with a couple of my mission buddies and went to dinner with them at a chinese restaurant in Sandy. After dinner, we went and saw fast and the furious. It was a way cool movie. I'd highly recommend it to everyone. So yeah, all in all it was an exciting weekend. Well, that's all I have this week.

hello everyone,
Sorry I haven't written for a while. I''ve been real busy and haven't really had a whole lot to say. The last couple of weeks have been really hard for us. Dorie reviewed her patriarchal blessing last week and became real discouraged. She was looking for something that would tell her that she'd be a mom someday but couldn't find anything anything in her blessing that suggested that she would be. So yeah, she was sad for a few days. I reassured her that her blessing also said that there were many blessings that heavenly father had in store for her that couldn't be mentioned. She took comfort in that. We also had an awesome time at the draper temple dedication. It was awesome. I loved seeing dorie get so emotional. It was her very first temple dedication. We also had a great conference weekend. We went to my mission reunion on friday. It was really fun to see all of my fellow missionaries and my mission president and his wife. President Platt had another inspiring message for all of us. I always loved listening to him speak. Sister Platt was even better. She was like a second mom to all of us. We also set up a group date with a few of my fellow missionaries for this next Saturday to go see a movie so we're really looking forward to that. Well, that's all I have this next week.

hey everyone,
It's been an exciting last few weeks. Me and Dorie are really excited. We get to go to the draper temple dedication sunday. We get to go to the stake center to see the broadcast. It's going to be dorie's first temple dedication and I know she's going to love it. We already got our own white handkerchiefs. I spent most of last night helping our neighbors move a couch out of their house. We first took it to his ex-wifes apartment. It took us forever to get it in her apartment and then the halls were too small for it turn to get into any room, so we just decided to take it back to his apartment. Luckily, another lady in the complex wanted it still, so we had to carry it all the way into her apartment. I sware that thing weighed a ton. We also had our stake general priesthood meeting last night. Our stake president spoke on missionary work and the important responsibility we have as priesthood holders to carry it forth in our wards. We also watched a really good presentation about a convert who found a book of mormon that didn't have the title page so he didn't know the title or which church it belonged to. He was a pastor of another church to. The other pastors eventually kicked him out because he started using the book of mormon in his sermons and he wouldn't burn the book when they told him to. The rest of the movie was just about him trying to find the church that it belonged to. I can't remember the title but I think everyone should see it. We also went and did an endowment session with another couple in our complex. We haven't done a session in a while so it was really fun to finally do it again. We also celebrated my youngest nieces--Elle--birthday saturday. It was her first birthday. It was really cute. She got cake all over herself. But yeah, that's pretty much all that's been going on with me. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hey everyone,
I've had a wonderful last couple of weeks. We just found out last night that Dorie's application to come work with me at the temple is almost done. It will be great to finally have her there with me. It gets so lonely sometimes without her. Dorie also just found out that she is now visiting teaching companions with her best friend in the ward. They're both way excited. They both had previous companions that they could never get a hold of and that had conflicting schedules. Now they both have schedules that they can work around. I've never seen my wife so happy. I also just found out that another one of my friends had her baby. I'm happy for her but at the same time becoming more anxious to have children of our own. Oh well, time will tell when that blessing will finally come into our lives. For the time being, we're enjoying getting used to the joys and struggles of married life. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hi again everyone,
Happy late Valentines to everyone. This week was an awesome one. I spoiled my wife once again this last saturday. She already told ame that I could count the wii fit that we bought for our wii as her valentines day, but I felt like I should get her more. So, I bought her a dozen balloons, 3 flowers, and a really nice card. I also told her that I was grateful that she was my valentine. Later that night, we went and hung out with a couple of our friends who don't live that far from my parents. They're the Hulmes--Steve and Teresa--they have their own band and we occassionally go to see them perform their gigs. We took pizza with us and Teresa made us a delicious desert. We watched an episode of Psyche and a few short scenes from the new season of the office. Then we watched Serenity. All in all, we had a fun night. Other than that, there isn't really anything else new to report. We're still working on having kids. No news to report yet on that front. We went and did sealings last night at the temple. It really felt great to hear the words from the temple ceremony again. I really am grateful for me and Dorie's temple wedding. It means we'll be together forever and our kids will be sealed to us to. We can't wait. Oh yeah, we also went to the draper temple open house last friday. It is by far one of the most beautiful temples I've seen. We can't wait till it's open so we can go and perform temple work inside. Well, that's all I have this week!

Hi again everyone,
This past week has been a ton better than the previous. I am eating a ton better now and getting plenty of natural sugars. Not too much new to report. Dorie is suffering from a little cold right now. We bumped into a couple of my old co-workers--Brady and Becca Summers--at the movie theatre last saturday. Dorie and Becca got along right away. We talked about possibly setting up a day to go on a double night or even do a girls and guys night out thing. This is kind of Dories new thing that she's trying to get started. She's already talked with several couples in our ward to see if they're up to it. So far, we have about 3 or 4 couples. We also bought a wii fit board. Dorie's way excited now that she can exercise with it. Oh yeah, our washer and dryer set finally arrived last Thursday. We were so excited. We also used the spare money we had from our tax returns to buy more wii games. So all in all, life is going well. Dorie is becoming more baby hungry every day. I think it may be do to the fact that we have over a dozen women in our ward who are pregnant right now or just had one. Not to mention most of her friends are pregnant to. We wish it could come quickly, but her depo shot hasn't completely worn off yet. But, we know that when the time is right, Heavenly Father will bless us with a little one of our own. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hey everyone,
This past week was an interesting one. I took my first 2 tests for both my classes this semester last friday. The first was a scantron test so I got to see my score afterwards. I passed with a B. I was excited. Me and my wife went to see Inkheart in theatres on saturday. I also gave my wife a rather big scare saturday night. I went out to do our laundry and then came back feeling really dizzy. She called her mom afterwards and she thinks that my blood pressure may have taken a drastic drop. I may also be hypoglycemic. I just need to start eating more natural sugars during the day. Other than that, nothing else really interesting happened. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hello everyone,
This past week has been a better one for us. We went to the doctor last thursday, and it looks like everything is great now with her knee. Dorie has been really tired lately but the swelling appears to have gone down in her knee. We're still waiting to get a cast for knee though. We had to go to a medical supply store to get it fitted last friday so it's going to take a few weeks before it arrives. We also finally got my taxes filed on saturday. We're really excited. We plan on using some of my tax return to finally get a washer and dryer set. Our apartment has the hookups for it. We've been doing it at my parents house for the time being. If we have some money left over, we might even get a wii. We went up to my older sisters house in Layton to celebrate my oldest nephew's birthday. He turned 14 last friday. We also went to their church after it was over to see him be ordained a teacher. That was really cool. I couldn't believe how fast all my nieces and nephews are growing. I have 13 of them. I will admit that I am anxious to finally start having some kids of my own. After watching all of my older siblings raise their kids, its really made me jealous. Hopefully that will happen soon. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hey everyone,
This has been a fairly bad week for us this week. Sunday night, Dorie dislocated her left knee. Luckily it popped back into place. So we didn't really think much of it. The only thing is her knee has been hurting all week. So we finally took her to her family doctor today. They took an x-ray and luckily it didn't show any break, but it did show some fairly apparent signs of arthritis developing. We late went to the hospital so they could do an ultrasound and they found a blood clot in a superficial vain. The good part is she didn't need to be ommitted into the hospital. The doctor did give her some anti-inflamatory medications to help heal it though. We also need to get a knee brace for her. So overall, it didn't end up being too bad. It could've been worse. That's all I have this week.

Hello everyone,
This week has been a great one. We finally had our 1 year anniversary last monday. We were able to convince my parents to brave the storm and take us to provo to brick oven for our anniversary. It was also our "gift of love" for christmas from them. That's just what my dad calls them every year now. Don't ask me why. My wife also took her second pregnancy test wednesday night. Unfortunately, it came out negative for the second time now. We were both pretty bummed about it. Oh well! It will come when the time is right. We also went sledding with a few of my nieces and nephews yesterday up behind my older sisters house. It was pretty fun. I also started school last wednesday. Not really looking forward to it. But you do what you got to do. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hello everyone,
Happy new year to everyone! I can't believe how fast 2008 went by. Now we've already begun 2009. Not only that, monday will mark our one year wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe that we've already been married that long. It has been a wonderful year for us though. So many wonderful things happened in 2008. Here's a list:
1. My marriage to eternal companion who I love more than anything in the world.
2. Our wonderful honeymoon.
3. Buying our first car the chevy cavalier.
4. Then buying our second car a nissan altima.
5. Finding our own apartment.
6. Getting to travel to New York and meet my in-laws.
7. We received our first matress. Which is very comfortable.
8. Our first christmas together as a couple.
This about all that I can think of. Of course we've also had our downs as well as our ups during the year. Every couple does. The good news is that they've helped us grow stronger as a couple. I am most grateful for my temple marriage though. Dorie has meant everything to me. She came at the perfect time when I needed her the most. Even though there are times when I wonder what she ever saw in me. We're hoping on starting our family this year to. Dorie is now off her depo shot and she's beginning to have cramps so we're hoping that she'll be getting her period back soon. Plenty of things to be looking forward to this year. Well, that's all I've got this week.
