Hey everyone,
I'm finally getting somewhat back on track with this whole blog thing. We've had a very eventful week this last week. It all started Sunday night when Dorie started having an unbearable pain in her upper leg. She says it felt like someone was stabbing knives into it. It kept continuing for the next 3 days. Finally, we decide that we need to go to the urgent care doctor to find out why her leg is hurting so bad. Once we get there, we start to become suspicious that it might be another blood clot. This would be her 3rd blood clot she's had. So the urgent care doctor sent us to the ER for more tests. They decided they needed to do an ultrasound to determine if there really is a blood clot. So they take her to the ultrasound technician and at first everything is looking normal. Then she says "uh oh I don't like the look of that." So both me and Dorie are freaking out now. She takes her back to her room and we wait another 10 minutes for the doctor to come back. He tells us that she has a blood clot about half a centimeter long in her leg. Afterwards he wants to do a hereditary panel to see if Dorie carries the gene for something called DVT. For those of you who might not know what this is, it's essentially when you get very deep blood clots. These can be very deadly if they break off and head toward either your heart or lungs. We thought it would be easy--just let the nurse draw her blood for the panel and we'd be on our way--boy were we wrong. The nurse couldn't find a vein that would give her enough blood for the panel. She needed to fill 12 viles all together. She eventually got it but it was a long and painful process. The doctor did mention that the blood clots could've been caused by the birth control she's been on. She has been on the patch which has a very high clotting factor. So for now, she has to be off the birth control until we figure out what the doctor wants us to do. I've had to give her injections in her stomach for the last 5 days or so. Not really fun. It did open my eyes though. Me and Dorie have been having problems for the last few months. Just arguing over stupid things. When I found out that this could be a life long problem and I could potentially lose her, it opened my eyes and helped me realize just how precious my time is with her right now. I am fully commited now to giving her all I am. I do want to thank my friends who stood by me this last little while. You've given me lots of support when I've needed it the most. Even when it's put a lot of strain on your personal lives and those close to you. If I've offended anyone in any way, I apologize and ask for your forgiveness. There is one particular friend I've hurt in the process and I especially want to apologize to that person. You've been a great support for me and I thank you for it. I hope we can be friends forever. Me and Dorie are still planning on moving to New York in September and just working on getting everything ready for that. I think this will be a good thing for her to spend some time with her family. She really needs their support and I think we can help them out a ton as well. Well, that's all I have this week.

Hi everyone,
Sorry it's been a couple of months since I last wrote. So much has happened since the last post. Me and Dorie have been discussing this for a while and due to recent events that have happened in her family, we have decided to move to New York. Dories mom had a heart attack a few weeks ago and it finally hit Dorie just how hard it has been being away from her family. She hates being so far away when crises like this happens. So come september, we're going to travel cross country all the way to New York. We also recently found out that Dorie's youngest sister Katie got engaged. We're extremely excited for her and can't wait to experience that happy day with her. Dorie also just got her phlebotomy license last month. She's been looking for jobs for about a week now with no results yet. We've also decided to wait a couple more years to have kids. Dorie is now back on birth control until we get in a little more stable economic condition. I'm also going to finish my associates degree in university studies here at UVU. I'll only need to take 2 more classes during the summer to finish it. That way, I can transfer my degree to Binghamton University in New York when we move and finish my bachelors degree there. We just figured it would be easier to transfer a degree than it would be to transfer credits. We also found out that my younger brother and his wife are expecting a baby in July. They want to be surprised so we won't know what it is until the day they have the baby. So altogether, things are going pretty well for us. Well, that's all I have for right now!
